Remember that road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect across Sydney before, during, and after the New Year’s Eve fireworks displays. You can find the full list of road closures here.
If you’re heading into the Sydney CBD to see the spectacular fireworks and take part in the New Year’s Eve celebrations, then why not leave your car overnight with us and collect it the following day when road closures are complete?
An alternative parking option could be to park your vehicle in North Sydney and catch the Metro into the Sydney CBD to avoid the Harbour Bridge closures. Park with DIVVY at 124 Walker Street for a 24-hour rate of $31, or park at 273 Alfred Streetand56 Berry Street for an evening rate of $5. From these locations, you can conveniently access Victoria Cross Metro or North Sydney Station.
Furthermore, all roads in North Sydney, including portions of Berry Street, will be closed from 1pm on 31st December 2024 to 3am 1st January 2025. From 5 pm, McMahons Point, Milsons Point and Waverton including sections of Miller Street, Blues Point Road, Lavender and Union Streets, Balls Head Road, Pacific Highway southbound, Alfred Street south, Walker and Denison streets and surrounding local roads will be closed. So we recommend getting to the car parks early to ensure you can access your pre-book parking spot.

- 56 Pitt Street – Road closure from 5pm 31 Dec – 4am 1st Jan 2025.
- 30 the Bond– Road closure from 5pm 31 Dec – 4am 1st Jan 2025.
- Sir Stamford Hotel– Road closure from 6am 31 Dec – 5:30am 1st Jan 2025 (Cahill Walk on the Cahill Expressway Circular Quay overpass will be closed).
- Intercontinental Hotel Sydney – Road closure from 2pm 31 Dec – 4am 1st Jan 2025.
- Novotel Hotel Darling Harbour– Road closure from 8pm 31 Dec – 1:30am 1st Jan 2025.
- For 1 Margaret St, 1 York St, 168 Clarence St, 255 Clarence St & 45 Clarence St, roads will be closed from 10pm 31 Dec – 4am 1st Jan 2025.
North Sydney
- 124 Walker St – Road closure from 5pm 31 Dec – 3am 1st Jan 2025.
- 56 Berry St– Road closure from 1pm Dec – 3am 1st Jan 2025.
- 273 Alfred St– Road closure from 1pm Dec – 3am 1st Jan 2025.
Sydney NYE – Road closures
- From 2 pm: Roads in Circular Quay and The Rocks north of Bridge Street will close, including sections of George Street and Hickson Road to Pottinger Street, Grosvenor Street including Sydney Harbour Bridge off-ramp, Bridge, Phillip, Young, Pitt, Loftus, Lower Fort, Cumberland, Harrington and Argyle streets, and other local roads.
- From 4 pm: Iron Wharf Place from Darling Drive (Sofitel access) at Darling Harbour will be closed.
- From 5 pm: Roads in the city centre including sections of Bridge, Pitt, Bent, Hunter, O’Connell, Elizabeth, Phillip, Castlereagh and College streets, St Marys Road and Yurong Parkway. In the Millers Point area, roads include Hickson Road, Kent Street, Dalgety Road, Towns Place and other local roads. In Pyrmont North, sections of Harris Street and Pirrama Road will close. In Haymarket, the Railway Colonnade at Central Station will close.
- From 7 pm: the only way to travel east or west across the city is via Goulburn Street or the Cross City Tunnel. In the city sections of Macquarie, Elizabeth, Castlereagh, Pitt, King, Market, Bathurst and Park streets and Hospital Road. In Pyrmont, further sections of Pirrama Road will close. In Darling Harbour, sections of Wheat Road and Harbour Street including Harbour Street and Bathurst Street off-ramp from Cross City Tunnel westbound will close.
- From 10 pm: The roads around Wynyard including sections of York St, Clarence St, King St, Margaret St, Erskine St and other nearby streets will be closed.
- From 11 pm: Sydney Harbour Bridge closed in both directions and Western Distributor fully closed between Pyrmont and the city. Roads in the area also closed include Sussex and Kent Streets and all roads around King Street Wharf/Barangaroo.
